Cheap Diapers this week at Rite Aid

Hi all,

There is a great diaper deal this week going on at Rite Aid.

Jumbo packs of Huggies are on sale for $8.97, and Little Swimmers are on sale for $6.97. Plus, when you buy $30 worth of selected Kimberly Clark products (including the Huggies), you get $10 UP rewards.

I bought 3 jumbo packs of size 3 and a pack of little swimmers = $33.88

I used 2 $1 off your purchase coupons and a $1/1 huggies RA coupon, all found at Rite Aid Ad Perk’s site as well as a $3 off $15 survey coupon. (Rite Aid coupon total =$6)

I also used 4 of the $3/1 Huggies coupons available here. (Manufacturer coupon total = $12)

So I paid $15.88 out of pocket and then got $10 UP rewards…

$5.88 for 108 size 3 diapers + a pack of little swimmers is quite a good deal. And yes, we are still using cloth diapers. We do use the occasional disposable, but I like to give these as baby shower presents!

Arg!

I know that I shouldn’t complain when I am already getting great deals, but it’s such a bummer to me when I realize I could have gotten a better deal.  Venting to my husband doesn’t do much, so all of you get to “hear” me vent… and you’ve probably been in similar situations.

I didn’t have any kids this morning, so I stopped at CVS simply to scan my card at the coupon machine and see if I could get a free something or other to get my green bag tag scanned.  Well, I got another Crystal light coupon, so I bought two more To Go packets.  I saw that the cashier didn’t scan my green tag, though he picked it up.  And all too soon, my transaction was over, because I owed nothing so he never asked me for payment.  I really wanted that bag tag scanned and didn’t get it… but why can’t I be happy that I got 2 more free packets??

Then, I went to Giant and had my deal all set up but they didn’t have an item.  I rearranged my thinking and got 2 creamers, 1 gal tea, 1 pkg of plates, 3 ham steaks, and 1 bottle of ketchup for $6.  Remember my store is having grand opening specials, so I got the tea, plates, and ketchup for free with coupons.  However, I used (2) $1 manufacturer’s coupons on the creamers.  When I got home and sat down to read the paper, I saw Giant ad (which I had previously looked at online) and remembered I wanted to use the $1 doubler coupons — I could have saved another $2!!!

Well, now that I vented, hopefully I’ll move on with the rest of my afternoon and not be grumpy!

CVS Deals 5/22

Here are some things to keep in mind at CVS this week:

Trident Gum – $0.99, get $0.99 ECB (limit 1)

Revlon Nail color – $4.99, get $4 ECB (limit 6)
There are $1 coupons (expire 6/12) for Revlon nail color, making these free with ECB.
Also, several of the scented flavors are actually cheaper than $4.99.  Scan them at your store’s red coupon machine to see what the price is.  I’ve read reports of some kinds ringing up as $3.99 (making them free with the ECB, even w/o a coupon).  At my store, they scanned and said this at the machine:  “Retail: $4.59; with card: $4.99.”  I’ve never had something say it was more expensive with the card, so  I printed the tag at the machine and took it to the checkout.  The cashier adjusted my price to $4.59, so I paid $0.59 each.  Since they price goes toward my Beauty Bonus, I was really pleased with that deal!

Red Coupon Machine — Scan for free Green Tag
I had to scan twice (just like last week) to get this coupon, but it did come out.  Use the green tag and your own reusable bag to get $1 ECB every 4 trips.  You can only have one tag and one scan per day, but if you already have one, get this tag for a friend or keep it in case you lose yours!  I had to ask the cashier for the tag, as they were behind the counter.

Red Coupon machine — Scan for $1 off Crystal Light
The “to-go” packets are 2 for $1, so with this coupon, you can get 2 for free.  My store’s packets were hanging on a box outside the refrigerators.

Cheap buys at Target today

Went to Target today –

Dentyne Pure Herbal Mint Gum is at the Registers and priced $1.04. Pair that with the $1/1 target coupon and get a pack of gum for $0.04!

Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers (Asian Inspired) were on clearance for $1.37. I used a $1/1 from the All You magazine and got it for $.37!

CVS – Suntan lotion

If you’re doing the Neutrogena deal this week (buy 2 products, get $10 ECB, limit 1), here is a reminder for those of you who get CVS emails.

This week my CVS coupon was 25% off (not the usual and coveted $5 off 25).  I almost junked the email because it’s not valid on sale items.  When do I ever buy things not on sale at CVS??  However, the Neutrogena deal is the ECB, not the price, so the prices are the regular prices, making these items eligible for 25% off, PLUS $10 ECB.

At my store, different items were marked with the tags, but the ad doesn’t specify if it’s all Neutrogena suntan lotion or if it’s certain ones (I’ve seen other blogs suggest the cheapest kind — sticks that were about $8 — but they didn’t have a tag at my store and I was too scared to try it).  However, paired with the 25% off coupon, you should be able to score some cheap lotion (prices of items with tags were about $10-13).    Try this link to get add’l coupons.  At the moment, it’s not working for me, but something’s wrong with my internet, so I don’t know if it’s me or the link.

CVS — Potentially FREE candy!

It’s been rumored (and it worked for me) that you can get $2 off coupons from the magic coupon machine for Hershey’s Drops or Pieces candy in the stand up bag.  And… you can get more than one if you go on more than one day.  Pair two of those coupons with this week’s sale (2 for $6) and a $2 off 2 manufacturer’s  newspaper coupon and you’ll have two FREE bags!

On a side note, when I went yesterday, I didn’t receive the coupon the first time I scanned, so I tried scanning again.  It worked!  Today, I received the coupon the first time I tried and when I tried scanning again got a message that said “Come back tomorrow [for any coupon in general because you’ve already scanned once, my friend!].”  A friend said she had to scan twice today to get her first coupon.  I might try to go back two more times this week to see if I can get two more coupons and two more free bags… seeing as how the baby in utero practically devoured the first bag already!  ha ha  (I like having someone else to blame for this appetite!)
