Puffs MM – Weis

** Update (11/1):  Looks like this deal is NOW DEAD!  Reported from other shoppers — Weis corporate has cancelled this deal b/c it was a mistake.  Apparently, they were going to let it stand, but some people cleaned out the shelves and demand was too high.  Remember to be a careful shopper & considerate of others trying to get the deals, too!  If a few extremists overdo it, we’re likely to see deals decrease, hurting us ALL in the long run.  Am back to being glad I got my Kleenex at CVS (and that I took the time to go to different stores so I wouldn’t be clearing the shelves)!  🙂

**Update (10/31):  The 10/16 and 10/30 P&G had coupons for $1/6 boxes.  So… It’s not a MM, but you can get 6 boxes for the price of $5 (with coupon) and then get $5 OYNO.  Six free boxes sounds good to me!  🙂

Well, I wish I hadn’t stocked up on tissues last week.  At 0.42 / box, I thought that was pretty cheap!

However, this week (10/30) at Weis, you can pick them up for free (possibly even a MM!).

Puffs, at $1 each, are part of the promo: WYB 5, get $5 OYNO.  If you have a coupon (try the 10/16 P&G), it will be a moneymaker for you!  Maybe I’ll get some more anyway to donate.

(P.S.  Just have to vent… found out that my toilet paper deal would have been sweeter if I’d purchased the purple Cottonelle packages — I would have also received a $4 OYNO Catalina — grr!)

Toilet Paper for .40 a roll – NO COUPONS! – @ Weis

Stocking up for the winter -- TP (@Weis) & Tissues (@CVS)! Forgot to picture the wipes & Cheezits I used to complete both of these deals.

My favorite TP is Cottonelle.  My stock-up price is $0.30 a roll, but I used to think anything under $0.50 was a good deal — so this one might be worth checking out — even if you don’t have coupons!   With a Weis Deal this week & coupons, I stocked up for the next few months.  Pick the deal below that suits your needs:

You know your store counts shelf prices on items for Buy $X, get $X on your next order (OYNO) coupon:

Buy (3) 12-pk Cottonelle TP on sale for $6.49 ea (shelf price varies, but should be more than $7ea).
Pay $19.47 (shelf price higher than $21).

Get $7 OYNO coupon for spending $21.
Net total: 12.47 or$0.346/roll

Your store counts the sale price toward OYNO catalinas (or you’re not willing to risk a hassle — which is where I was!):

Buy (3) 12-pk Cottonelle TP on sale for $6.49 ea
Buy (1) Huggies 72 ct wipe – $1.99
Total: 21.46
Get $7 OYNO coupon for spending $21.
Net total: 14.46 or $0.401/roll + “FREE” WIPES

Use various coupons to sweeten the deal.  I had $1.00 Cottonelle coupons & a $0.75/1 wipes coupon too!  I actually did the deal 3 times (at two stores, so I didn’t clean anyone out!) and rolled the catalina.  Since I don’t usually shop at Weis, I used the $7 at the end to buy a few staples — 18 count eggs for $1.99??  Perfect for all the eggs we eat!  🙂

See the Kleenex tissue deal here.

Today’s finds

Hi all,

I wrote these deals I found today in an email to a more famous *ahem* blogger and thought I’d post them with pics here.

1) I found a mail-in-rebate for P&G (including Pampers) in the aisle at Weis (see attached picture). No mention that it needs to be purchased at Weis. It seems like this would make the Giant Pampers deal this week even better.

2) I found Huggies wipes with shea butter (64 ct) on clearance for $.87 each at CVS after a tip that they were on clearance but unmarked from a Hip2Save reader. I used the .50/1 coupons from the 8/14 SS and got 4 packs for $1.48 after using 4 coupons.

3) The Pampers Splashers are in the 90% CVS summer clearance. I got 2 boxes which each rang up at $1.24 then used the $1.50/2 from the latest PG insert and got two boxes for $.98 ($.49 for one pack of 24 diapers).

4) I found Waverly plates at Weis on the paper plates shelf but with no tag. I had the cashier scan them and they rang up at $1.49 – really cheap with the recent $.75/1 coupons.com coupon and free depending on how your store doubles.

5) Edy’s ice cream at Weis is CHEAP even without coupons. Ours our shelf priced at $6.99 (but Weis prices and ads vary greatly depending on your location). If your shelf price is $6.99, you only need to buy two at the $3.33 price to get you over the $12 and to get the $4 OYNO coupon. I used a $1/2 coupon I had from the 6/12 SS. So $6.66 for two, -1 MFR = 5.66 for two, get $4 OYNO = 1.66 for two with coupon or 2.66 for 2 without coupon if your self price is like mine.

I attached a pic of my receipt for the ice cream deal with the $4 OYNO that printed. Important: works once in transactions. I did the deal twice with two separate transactions.

Did you ever leave the store smiling so hard your face hurt?

Used

Plus, I found a “try me risk free” rebate blinkie in front of the Laughing cow cheese, which I can submit for a rebate of $2.99.

Total oop after catalina and rebate = $3.35

The shopping trip

Tonight Sam was away and I had our baby all to myself. I was brave and decided to make THE weekly shopping trip. We went to two Rite Aids, Giant, CVS, and Weis. When I was at our second to last stop I thought, “I will never be able to do this many stops with more than one baby.”

Anyway, things went well. I got some of the general deals at RA and did a combination of special deals:

I struck out at CVS – they didn’t have a single thing on my list. My total ended up being $11.96 for everything in the picture and I got two $3/15 survey coupons at RA. A good day!

Today’s Stock Up Trip

I love when the month changes in the middle of the week, because all of the online coupons reset and you can print them again…and there are new coupons! Today I went to Weis and to Martin’s just to buy the things that were great deals. You can check out the complete match-ups for Giant/Martins here and for Weis here. I ended up spending $8.35 for…

Here is some annotation:

  • 15 Rolls of Viva Paper towels (my favorite). When I noticed the $.85/1 coupon in the newspaper a few weeks ago, I decided it was worth the $4 to buy 10 more of them on Amazon, because 1) I have only seen one other Viva coupon in the last 6 months and, 2) they are my favorite paper towel, and 3) I knew I could get them for free (or better than free) if I found them on sale because our local grocery stores all double $.85 to $1.70. Today I found them for $1.50 each at Weis and had enough coupons collected or bought to get 15. So, I made $.20 per roll = $3. Factoring in the price of the coupons, I paid $1 for 15 rolls of paper towels.
  • 15 Boxes of General Mills Cereal. Right now Martin’s is running a promo where you get $6 off instantly and free milk wyb 4 boxes. I did this deal twice earlier this week and both times I received a catalina coupon for $2 off 5 boxes. I also found out the Martin’s in Hagerstown will take a coupon for each box, the catalina coupon, and give you the $6 off. So, I went and did the deal a few more times. 🙂 After seeing everything vanish at the last food give-a-way, I don’t feel foolish knowing I can donate all of this next week. I still have two or three catalinas and a few free milk coupons.*
  • 2 bags of Lays Chips on sale this week at Weis 2/$5, and I used two $.55/1 coupons that doubled to $1.10, so $1.40 per bag. Because I had to separate transactions for all of the Viva coupons to double, I separated the chips into some of those transactions to avoid an overage and the cashier needing to override multiple transactions.
  • 4 boxes of Golden Grahams Cereal Bars Really not healthy or a great breakfast…more like a dessert, if you ask me. They are $1 this week at Weis, and free after the $.50/1 coupon from the paper doubles. Also on sale – Betty Crocker potatoes and Betty Crocker supreme brownie mix.
  • 2 Pouches of Starkist Tuna priced 2/$3 at Weis this week. I used a $.75/2 coupon from the paper, which doubled to $1.50, so $.75/piece.

*Hint: We love the Smart Balance milk for a number of reasons, but especially when we run across deals like this. The reason? The use by date is often very far out. The milk I bought today had a use by June 2nd date. We will have no problem drinking 1.5 gallons by then.

Weis Update

Well, I did it. And, it went better than expected*. Total: $1.34

My trip went like this:

Transaction 1

5 Boxes of Raisin Bran @ $1.99 each
1 Bag of Clementines @ $3.99 each
Subtotal = $13.94
Instant $5 off order
Used (4) $.70/1 Raisin Bran coupons (you will need two computers to print 4 coupons). Coupons will double to $1.40.
Used (1) $1/2 Kellogg’s cereal
Used (1) $.75/1 3lb. bag of cuties from SS 2/27 (doubled to $1.50)
Get free gallon of milk oyno
Total: $.84

Transaction 2

1 Can of Quaker Quick Oats @ $1.50
1 Gallon of Weis Skim Milk @ $3.34
Used (1) $1/1 Quaker from RP 1/2
Used (1) Free gallon of milk from transaction #1
Total: $.50

*In addition to the (4) $.70/1 Raisin Bran coupons, the cashier also allowed me to use $1/2 Kelloggs from the 3/6 RP insert. I need to check Weis’ coupon policy again. I wonder if they allow 1 coupon per item like RA – so if I buy 5 items I can use 5 coupons.

Today’s Adventures

Today I am headed to Weis Markets to see if I can make magic happen.

Through Saturday, certain Kellogg’s cereals are on sale for $1.99 and if you buy 5, you get $5 off instantly. In addition, starting today, you get a coupon for a free gallon of milk (on your next order) wyb any 3 Kellogg’s cereals. You can read more about qualifying cereals and the overlapping promos here. My plan is:

Transaction 1:

4 Boxes of Raisin Bran @ $1.99 each
1 Box of another Kellogg’s cereal @ $1.99 each
Subtotal = $9.95
Instant $5 off order
Use (4) $.70/1 Raisin Bran coupons (you will need two computers to print 4 coupons). Coupons will double to $1.40.
Get free gallon of milk oyno

Total = $0.65 overage + free milk

I’ll let you know how it goes!

Weis Deal

You can check out some of this week’s Weis Markets deals here. I just wanted to highlight an unexpected find when I took advantage of the Buy $35 get $10 OYNO promotion on the back of this week’s add.

Pillsbury Simply Chocolate Chip Cookie Refrigerated Dough
Marked 50% off discontinued item, pay $1.59 each
Had $.55/1 peelies which doubled to $1.10 at our stores.
Final oop price = $.49 each (and good towards the buy $35 get $10 OYNO).

Let’s just say Sam and I have enough chocolate chip cookie dough to last until Summer finally decides to show up. Bake these on stoneware for a minute or so less than recommended and let them cool on the stone wear for the yummiest and gooey-est chocolate cookies ever. Mmm.

Weis Trip Update

In a previous post, I wrote about the possibilities of buying extremely cheap Gerber baby food this week at Weis. Today I made my trip, which cost me $3.49 and $2.99 for the baby food coupons I bought online (so $6.48) for $59.88 worth of food. I consider a savings of 90% rather stellar! I also lucked out and had a checkout lady who was both friendly and knowledgeable, and who thought this was fun!
